Family-run exterior cleaning in Skipton and across West Yorkshire
Low pressure, treatment-led cleaning for surfaces that would be damaged by a pressure washer.
Not everything should meet a pressure washer. Render, painted surfaces, soft stone, timber and older mortar can all be damaged in seconds by too much pressure.
Soft washing does the work chemically instead. A biodegradable treatment kills off the algae, lichen and bacteria at the root, then a gentle rinse takes it all away. The surface is not battered, and because the growth is killed rather than just knocked off, the result lasts considerably longer.
We test a small area first and protect planting, paths and anything else nearby.
A low pressure application coats the surface evenly and gets into the pores where growth starts.
The treatment is given time to work through the organic growth rather than being rushed.
A soft rinse removes the residue and leaves an even, clean finish.
Ideal for render, painted walls, soft sandstone and older mortar joints.
Killing the growth at the root means it takes far longer to return than a straight wash.
Treatments are applied carefully and diluted properly, with planting protected as we go.
Soft washing is available for commercial premises as well as homes. It suits rendered office blocks, care homes, holiday cottages, schools and rented housing stock where a heavy handed clean would risk damaging the finish. We are happy to quote for single visits or ongoing maintenance across a portfolio of properties in Skipton & the surrounding areas.

It is a low pressure clean that relies on a specialist treatment rather than force. The solution kills the algae, lichen and moss at the root, then the surface is gently rinsed. It suits anything that would be damaged by a pressure washer.
Once the surface has dried it is perfectly safe. We just ask that pets and children stay indoors while we are applying and rinsing, as you would with any garden treatment.
Because the growth is killed rather than blasted off, results normally hold for three to four years, considerably longer than a straight pressure wash.
Render, pebbledash, painted masonry, cladding, roof tiles, decking and older stonework all respond well to it.
We cover Skipton and the surrounding towns and villages, from Settle and Grassington down through Silsden, Bingley and Shipley to Guiseley, Ilkley and Baildon. If you are not sure whether you are in our patch, just ask.
Most enquiries get an answer the same day. Send over a couple of photos if you can, it helps us give you an accurate price without a site visit.
